Artist Statement

Well hello there, my name is Austin Marine, and I guess you could say that I'm an artist of sorts. In general all the artwork I create doesn't have a reason, I mostly create whatever I'm in the mood for. However I do make pieces on request and of course for whatever I'm assigned to do. As you can see I like to use graphite pencils and ink pens, which for me have become my most used medium. I favor making black and white artwork versus colors, instead I favor pushing my shading more for realism, 3D shape, and depth. I draw anything basically, I favor drawing vehicles and such but do break off from that to create different pieces occasionally. When it comes to the people who I aim my artwork to, there's really no set group. A lot of what I create are things that appeal to people who like mechanical things, historical art, engineering, and vehicles. However the fact that I do create a big variety of art means that there is an almost unlimited audience who might appreciate the artwork I put out.

When it comes to messages in my work, thee usually aren't any. My art is really just meant to be visually interesting, but certain pieces are created with a message in mind. If I want viewers to understand something in what they see, I might incorporate some sort of narrative to convey the message I want to be known. In general I love my artwork and how I create it, and I don't want to really stray away from that. I'm familiar with it and I am always able to push myself more on every new piece I create, hoping to best my previous work. What you see from me now is what you will continue to see me draw; however I do plan to branch off a little and create some different work to keep things interesting. All I really have to say in regards to myself, is that I hope that people like the artwork I make, and that I really hope I can make a successful career out of this. I plan to continue pursuing art into college and beyond, so I hope that everything will work out for the best for me in the upcoming future.
